Blanket Bay is the base for Hiking, tramping or walking the Routeburn and Milford and Tracks and many day walks

The Routeburn, Milford, Greenstone and Hollyford tracks, offer three to four days guided hikes through bush filled valleys and mountain passes dotted with alpine gardens. Blanket Bay is the ideal location from which to begin these tracks and undoubtedly there is no better spot to relax afterwards.

Alpine Lakes, tussock and fellfields, remote beech forest, sparkling lakes, rivers and streams, native birds and alpine flora make this a facinating part world to explore.

There are several wonderful day walks in the vicinity of Blanket Bay. For those who wish, we have charming and exceptionally knowledgeable guides available who will meet you at the lodge and take you to places like The Paradise or Routeburn Valleys for the day.

For those guests who wish to walk without a guide we recommend hiring a car to allow easy access to the many walking tracks within half an hours drive from the lodge.
