Blanket Bay has made a commitment to 'Caring Luxury' which involves initiatives to reduce our impact on the natural environment by adopting responsible environmental, economic and social practices, which at the same time provide enriching and rewarding experiences for our guests.

Our owners, management and employees have an ongoing commitment to reduce our impact on the natural environment by helping Blanket Bay develop many initiatives ensuring we live up to our guests expectations of the ‘clean and green’ New Zealand we are all proud of.

Furthermore, Blanket Bay is a keen supporter of local businesses and school. We use local tourism operators to support the local community. We champion the local artists and have a large collection of their work within the lodge. We utilise the skills of local craftsman and tradesman to refurbish and service the lodge.

We have many initiatives and actions to support ‘Caring Luxury’ however we are constantly looking for new ways to reduce our footprint and to help the wider community.
